Easier management – less granular control
Project Server Permissions mode
Familiar to people who have worked with previous version of Project Server.
Can be more complex, but gives greater control
You can switch – but if you switch from Project Permission mode then all the current configuration of groups and categories are lost
Behind the scenes SharePoint Permissions mode is like Project Server Permissions mode with some static permissions
