“Sons of Belial” – worthless scoundrels, serving the devil; v12
Won’t know or serve the LORD;
Stole the Lord’s Offering, v13-16
Caused others to despise the Lord’s offering. v17
Did sexual immorality, v22
Will not listen to rebuke, will not quit sinning, v25

5. The Sins of Eli He neglected the management of his own sons, v20-22
His rebuke was too late and a bit soft, v.22-25
He failed to protect the worship of God from his own sons, v29a
He feared his sons more than God, v29b
He knew the sins but failed to restrain and discipline them, 3:13

6. The Results Sin grew like ravaging monster.
Sons became evil and hardened.
Israel’s worship defiled.
Priesthood was taken from Eli’s family, Samuel was raised.
Sons died same day, as promised
Shiloh was judged and became a lesson.
Eli’s family reduced to begging and lifespan shortened.

7. Action Plans Repent – change your mind on discipline.
Restore – Bring God’s love and cause into the mix.
Restart – Begin serving the Lord this way.
