General Info Defined the Constitutional rights of students in US public schools Created the Tinker Test which is used by courts today to determine whether a school’s disciplinary actions violate student’s 1st and 14th Amendment Rights Argued: November 12, 1968 Decided: February 24, 1969 Constitutional issue: Freedom of Speech

The Story The school soon found out about these wristbands and the principle Captain Hooke demanded Tinker Bell and Peter Pan to remove them because he believed they would cause a rebellion. Around Christmas time, Tinker Bell and her friend Peter Pan decided to protest the Vietnam War by wearing black wristbands to school.

This angered Peter Pan and Tinker Bell, so they refused to remove them.
Captain Hooke suspended Peter and Tinker Bell until after New Years Day.
