summary beginning: It was explained that Mrs. Gorf didn’t like children, but she loved apples. Luckily for Mrs. Gorf, if she wiggled her ears, first her right, then her left, and stuck out her tongue, she could turn her “misbehaving” students into apples. middle: Mrs. Gorf had many opportunities to turn her students into the apples that she loved. She changed 12 of the students into apples in two days. The other 15 were eventually turned into apples too by the end of the second week. end: The students got revenge on Mrs. Gorf, who had turned them all into apples, by attacking her and jumping all over her. Then, miraculously, the “apple children” convinced Mrs. Gorf to turn them back into children. As she was doing this, she did her ear and tongue trick, but Jenny held up a mirror and Mrs. Gorf turned herself into an apple. Louis, the yard teacher then ate Mrs. Gorf leaving the students teacher-less. MORAL: One for all and all for one. If you stick together, you can get anything done. There is no I in TEAM. Evil never wins.

1. Mrs. Gorf was a mean teacher and when her students misbehaved, she turned him/her into an apple. In the beginning, she caught Joe cheating so she turned him into an apple. Then she turned John into an apple for allowing Joe to cheat. Todd tried to give his opinion about the cheating so he was turned into an apple. Stephen started to cry because he was so scared so he too became an apple. Kathy was late to class the next day, so she became apple as soon as she got inside the classroom. Paul sneezed and was turned into an apple. Nancy said, “God bless you“ to the sneeze, so she became an apple. Terrence fell out of his chair and he became an apple. Maurecia tried to escape the madness and was turned into an apple before she was out the door, and the three Eric’s laughed when Mrs. Gorf tripped on a piece of chalk, so they unfortunately became apples. The other 15 students were all eventually turned into apples as well.

2. At the end of this chapter, the “apples” turned on Mrs. Gorf and she ended up turning herself into an apple. Louis, the yard teacher, came into the classroom and unknowingly ATE Mrs. Gorf, the apple. Now, the children on the thirtieth floor have NO teacher. 3. I predict that the stories from Wayside School are going to be silly and full of magic, especially since Mrs. Gorf, who seemed to be like a witch, turned her students into apples. It reminded me of Snow White. I assume that the students will be very much like normal students just with quirky attributes, like John, who reads upside down. How does he read things that he cannot physically flip upside down? Mostly, I imagine it will be humorous.
