Capitalization - 2 Capitalize a proper adjective. A proper adjective is derived from a proper noun. African tribes Southern accent Capitalize the first word in a direct quote. Do not capitalize a sentence fragment of the second half of a divided quotation. Jose said, “Come and look at the beautiful new mural on display in the library.” “Come” Jose said, “and look at the beautiful new mural on display at the library.”

Grammar - 1 Personal Pronoun I and Dave went to the movies.
The first person pronouns (I, me/we, us) always appear last in compound subjects. I and Dave went to the movies. Us and Carla all got new phones.

Usage - 1 A pronoun must agree with its antecedent in number, gender, and person. The antecedent is the noun or noun phrase to which the pronoun refers. The boy flew a kite. He flew a kite.
