Established in 2016 Funded by Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Meetings on the 4th Wednesday of every month Over 100 organizations have been involved Community groups Healthcare providers Religious organizations

Submitted revised Blueprint for Action on 12/15/17 GOALS Help Asbury Park residents of all ages and backgrounds have opportunities to live the healthiest lives possible Promote working together and the use of available community resources. Our city has many talented, caring people Work on neighborhood change to improve surroundings where it affects health for all Promote policies that help residents make healthier choices Share our work & progress with other community coalitions Seek additional sources of funding to sustain our work

4 What is Asbury Park ALIVE?
Events that temporarily close streets to automobiles to provide safe space for walking, bicycling, skating, running, using wheelchairs and walkers, dancing and social activities Changing the way that people view their streets and neighborhoods At least 46 cities in U.S. hold Open Streets events including in New Jersey (New Brunswick)

5 Goals for the Event Promote healthy and active living
Provide an opportunity to walk and ride bikes Connect communities Offer healthcare information and screenings

6 “Ultimate” Goal Using Asbury Park ALIVE! as a mode for creating ONE Asbury Park – eliminating barriers, making connections and strengthening communities
