Windows 10, What’s New Windows 10 is one of Microsoft’s biggest updates ever to Windows. Windows 8 was a failure in the market Windows 10 is a success.

The Start Menu Click the Start button.
Some apps can be displayed as Live Tiles, which can show information from that app. For example, Mail messages will be summarized in the Mail app's tile, while the Weather app's tile will show your weather forecast.

The Start Menu Up in the upper left is your picture and username.
Click the Start button. Click your user name. Select the desired command: • Change account settings: Lets you make changes to your Microsoft account, including your picture, password, and other options. • Lock: Locks your computer, requiring a password to use it again. • Sign out: Signs your account out of Windows, so another user can login.

Start Menu: You can add or “pin” frequently used apps to the start menu for quick access. Click the Start button. Select All apps. Find and right-click the app you want to pin. Select Pin to Start.

Resize an App Tile If there's a live tile we like, but want to see a bit more information—like with the Weather app—we can make a tile bigger. Click the Start button. Right-click the app tile. Select Resize. Select a size. The tile is resized.

Rename a Tile Group You'll notice a gap between tile groups, where you can add a group title. If you want to change or add one, you can just click the space... Click the Start button. Click in an empty name area on the Start menu. Enter a new group name and press Enter.

Start Menu shows: Most Used app list Recently Added app list Recently opened items. At the bottom of the Start menu, just above the Power button, you can display links to the following items: ■File Explorer ■The Settings window ■Your Documents, Downloads, Music, Pictures, and Videos folders ■The Homegroup and Network windows ■Your personal folder, from which you can access all your user account–specific folders and settings

The Start menu displays only File Explorer and Settings by default; you must turn on any specific folders or windows you want to display.

To display or hide app lists on the Start menu 1. Open the Settings window. 2. Click Personalization, and then on the Personalization page, click Start. 3. In the Start pane, do any of the following: ●● Click Show most used apps to turn off or on the Most Used list. ●● Click Show recently added apps to turn off or on the Recently Added list.

On or Off Jump Lists To display or hide jump lists on the Start menu and taskbar 1. On the Personalization page of the Settings window, click Start. 2. In the Start pane, click Show recently opened items in Jump Lists on Start or the taskbar to turn jump lists on or off. To add or remove folders on the Start menu 2. At the bottom of the Start pane, click Choose which folders appear on Start to display a list of options, each with a toggle button.

Manage Start screen tiles
The Start screen content (other than the Start menu) is displayed in the form of tiles. Each tile is actually a shortcut to something else Tiles are square or rectangular, and can be set to four different sizes: Small, Medium, Large, and Wide.
