1 X-Rays made by P. Lepeule (TE/VSC) and J-M Dalin (EN/MME)
X-rays at CMS : 16 and 18 m areas V. Baglin (20/12/11) CERN TE-VSC, Geneva X-Rays made by P. Lepeule (TE/VSC) and J-M Dalin (EN/MME)

2 Layout CMS : IP5.X The layout is symmetric wrt to the IP TAS ID34 Q1R5
CMS forward chamber RF fingers at 16 m RF fingers at 18 m

3 CMS modules with RF fingers
Module with RF fingers at 16 m Module with RF fingers at 18 m

4 X-rays the 20-12-2011, 18 m left (z+)
Vertical view Overlap of ~ 18 mm Conform

5 X-rays the 20-12-2011, 16 m left (z+)
Vertical view Overlap of ~ 22 mm Conform Horizontal view Overlap of ~ 22 mm Conform

6 X-rays the 20-12-2011, 16 m right (z-)
Vertical view Overlap of ~ 24 mm Conform Horizontal view Overlap of ~ 24 mm Conform

7 X-rays the 20-12-2011, 18 m right (z-)
Vertical view Overlap of ~ 6 mm, RF fingers INSIDE RF insert. Estimated aperture reduced to 36 mm Non Conform ~ ID 36 ID40

8 Summary All CMS vacuum modules equipped with RF fingers are conform, except one. The non conform module is located at 18 m, right of CMS Its RF fingers are located inside the RF tube, with an overlap of ~ 6 mm The estimated aperture is reduced to 36 mm The TAS aperture is 34 mm and 2.13 m long (the TAS is installed beside the non conform module)
