The Austrian Ultimatum
Austria-Hungary was furious and accused the Serbian government of planning the assassination Austria-Hungary sent a 10-point ultimatum to Serbia “Ultimatum”: a warning stating that unless someone meets your conditions you will take action against them

An excuse to declare war?
Why might Austria-Hungary have wanted to fight a war against Serbia before Assassination? Austria-Hungary saw the Assassination as an excuse to attack Serbia Investigations showed murders organised by Black Hand but did not wait for conclusive proof

Austria-Hungary delivered a 10-point ultimatum to Serbia The terms of the ultimatum were very harsh Austria-Hungary hoped that Serbia would reject the terms and this would give her reason to declare war on Serbia Serbia was accused of plotting the murders Austria-Hungary threatened Serbia with war if she refused to agree to the 10 points
