Simple Present: 1- I always get up at 7:30 a.m. (Routine) 2- She eats rice for lunch everyday (habit) 3- It is never hot in Alaska. (Fact) 4- I live in Riyadh. (Fact is true for along time) Simple continuous: 1- They are playing football in the garden ( Action happening now) 2- Nowadays she is studying English at KSU. (Action in progress around now) 3- I am meeting Miss Sara at ten o’clock tomorrow (Planned future arrangement)

11 Verbs which express a STATE not ACTION are usually used in the Present Simple not Present Continuous: I like coffee I am liking coffee I think it’s a good idea. I am thinking it’s a good idea. I agree with you. I am agreeing with you. I understand the new rule. I am understanding the new rule. I love you. I am loving you.

14 HAVE/ HAVE GOT USE: Have and Have got mean the same. Have got: Have:
-informal Formal. - When we speak Speaking & writing. Uk prefer have got Us prefer have -Both Have & Have Got Express Possession: e.g. I have got a new car I have a new car. -Only have Expresses Activity: e.g. I have got a shower every morning. What time do you have got lunch?

15 HAVE/ HAVE GOT Past: In the Past Got forms are not used. Had is much common e.g. I had got a bicycle. e.g.Did you have got a bicycle? Contraction: Have got: ’ve got & has got: ’s got. e.g. I have got a sister (I’ve got a sister). e.g. She has got a sister (She’s got a sister). Have: No contraction. I have a sister (I’ve a sister).
