The Auckland Club’s 50th anniversary provides District 16 with an opportunity celebrate 50 years of Zonta in New Zealand and Australia. We wanted all Clubs to be able to engage in the 50th celebration and in a consistent way throughout New Zealand. These Awards, the Zonta New Zealand 50 Women Awards, are part of the 50th anniversary celebrations and provide: Clubs with an opportunity to engage with their local community both District 16 and Clubs with an opportunity for media exposure and a link to the 2019 Centennial celebrations. They are not an ongoing Award however, with the incoming D16 Board’s approval, we may seek a further 50 recipients in each Award during 2018 for the Zonta International centennial celebrations.

These Awards are not intended to be ‘elitist’ they are about the recipient’s empowerment of other women and girls.
