4. In summary we request that NCC:
Prioritise the development of a Master Plan for Taradale Park for the 2018/19 financial year.
Do not redevelop the skate-bowl until a whole of park plan has been developed that takes in account the development aspirations of the Sports Clubs (refer preliminary concept plan) and the wider community.
Support the Sports Clubs planning phase through:
Financial Contribution to purchasing capacity to undertake the tasks outlined. The clubs will contribute up to 50% of the costs and are seeking 50% from other sources.
Representation from Council staff and the ward councillor in the planning process to ensure that final plans are in line with Council’s broader picture and will be supported by Council.
In summary, we consider that Taradale Park, a vibrant and highly valued sportsground and play area in the heart of Taradale, requires a joint planning approach involving the sports clubs, other users, the wider community and the Council. We request that this happens in the 2018/19 financial year, to provide all users with certainty and enable the Sports clubs to develop in a managed and coordinated way.
