2 Natural Man – I Cor. 2:14 Does not receive the things of the Spirit… for they are foolish to him He cannot know them … for they are spiritually discerned. Unable because of “total depravity” – needs Spiritual “Illumination” from the Holy Spirit???

When unbelievers read Scripture they can believe and be saved (John 20:30-31) The Holy Spirit’s work is “revealing” the Scripture so we can know the mind of God (2 Pet. 1:3, Eph 3:3-5 I Cor. 2:10-13)

God’s saving message is foolish to man’s wisdom and pride ...why many do not heed the call of the Gospel (I Cor. 1:26)

The Spiritual receives the revelation of the mind of God and is able to “judge all things” (I Cor. 2:15). Knows the eternal plan of God – Salvation From Sin (I Cor. 2:8-9)
