Notice that there are no x values on either side.
0x + 2 = 0x - 9
When your variables are gone look at what you have left and decide if it is a true or false statement.
2 = - 9 False
2 does not equal -9 so there is no solution.

Solve

Notice after you combine like terms both sides are the same.
6x – 2 = 6x - 2

The variables are gone so decide if the statement is true.

-2 equals -2 so there are infinite solutions.
