History of Rotary Club of Farragut
Chartered on April 22, 1980 as Club #3857 3 months after the Town of Farragut was chartered 24 Charter Members – none still active Sponsored by West Knoxville (Bearden) Club PDGs Robert Ely and Art Pickle spearheaded the start of the club.

Started the year with 91 members and finished the year with 92 members. Club Service Projects & Events 2017-2018

Ridgedale School Farragut Rotary adopted Ridgedale School this year and provided support to teachers, teachers aids, students and the facility through various service and support projects. 18 Volunteers 60 Hours $1, people impacted

Free Flu Shot Saturday September 21, 2017
Free Flu Shot Saturday is a community endeavor where free flu shots are made available at no cost (donation requested) at six area high schools. Seventeen members of the club worked at Farragut High School giving out shots to anyone that wanted one. This included drive-up service for those with mobility issues. 17 Volunteers 85 Hours $4,756 donated 982 people impacted

Salvation Army Bell Ringing December 2017
Throughout the Month of December, club members supported the Salvation Army Bell Ringing. This is an annual event supported by the Rotary Club of Farragut. 16 Volunteers 40+ Hours $4,756 donated

Boys & Girls Club Angel Tree December 2017
The club once again supported the Boys and Girls clubs of the Tennessee Valley with contributions to the Angel Tree. Members bought gifts for 47 children and filled the truck on November 29th. 47 Children 188 Gifts

World Rotary Day – Feb 24, 2018 Sarah Moore Greene Magnet Academy
Rotary Club of Farragut and the other 5 Knoxville clubs participated in a work day at Sarah Moore Green Academy. Painting and landscaping were the primary activities. 6 Volunteers 24 Hours $ people impacted

Stream Cleanup – April 21, 2018 Several members of the club, along with several family members walked the stream behind COSTCO picking up trash. 12 volunteers 25 hours

Wine Tasting & Silent Auction
The club held its annual Wine Tasting and Silent Auction at SouthEast bank. The wine and food were provided by the two Sams, with Water Into Wine catering the event. Over $8,000 was raised to support the club’s charitable activities.

International Food Gala
The club held the 3rd Annual International Food Gala at Kitchen 919 on April 22nd. Over $8,000 was raised to support the club’s charitable contributions. Teams from Pellissippi State Culinary Program supported the event and the winning team members were awarded $250 scholarships.

The Rotary Foundation helps fund RI’s humanitarian activities from local service projects to global initiatives. PolioPlus Donations Rotary began the fight to end polio in In 1985, about 350,000 people were affected with polio each year – Only eight new cases in Pakistan and Afghanistan. Rotary has helped to inoculate over 2.6 billion children around the world Club Goal - $3,640 Achieved - $6,152
