SOURCE QUESTIONS There are 3 types of source question, each of which will relate to one of the topic areas so that the whole course will be examined each year. There will be 4 sources in each exam that the questions will be based on.

SOURCE EVALUATION QUESTION (Evaluate the usefulness of…)
This will be worth 6 marks. Up to 4 marks available for evaluation of provenance (author / type of source / date / purpose of source). Up to 2 marks for evaluation of content. Up to 2 marks for evaluation of relevant recall.

SOURCE COMPARISON Qus. The source comparison question will be worth 5 marks; there will be 1 marks available for an overview and up to 4 marks available for comparisons of detail. Your answers should be along the lines of the developed comparisons at National 5. You need to make 4 SETS of detailed comparisons – which make a point and include two quotes of supporting evidence – to earn all the available marks!

SOURCE CONTEXTUALISATION Qus. (How Fully?)
Assess provenance of the source. Up to 3 marks available for linking info in the source to the question. Up to 7 marks available for developing source points with relevant recall / providing relevant recall that is related to the question.
