COINCIDENTAL PENALTIES
Time Penalty A penalty where the time is displayed on the clock and the team must play short for that player; Coincidental Penalty When penalties of equal duration are imposed against players on each team during the same stoppage of play, they are considered Coincidental; Immediate substitution for players assessed Coincidental penalties.

Guidelines to cancel penalties (MOTO): M – cancel as Many penalties as possible; O – cancel in a way to make the team only One player short; T – cancel in a way to avoid Taking a player from the ice; and O – cancel using the Order of penalty Occurrence, or the Order they were reported.

TIPS TO GUIDE YOU Add total minutes to each team then subtract difference to give rough estimate who will be short and for how long; Cancel Major penalties first, then Minors; Cancel the teams penalties with the least amount of time first. We will show you in the examples today.
