3 College and Career Ready Indicators
Student meet at least 1 of the following before graduation ACT Benchmark Score: 18 Eng, 22 Math or Reading, or 23 Science (If you benchmarked on the ACT back in March, you get to dress out of uniform Nov 12th - 16th) Military Enlistment AP Exam Score of 3 or better Dual Enrollment Career Tech Credential ACT WorkKeys-National Career Readiness Certificate

5 12th Grade Assessment Demographics(Required) – Thursday, Sept. 27th during Gov/Econ classes; Srs not in Gov/Econ will complete during 1st block: A-J LouAllens’s class K-Z M.Taylor’s class Actual Test – Tuesday, Oct 2nd on upstairs science hall Breakfast in the cafeteria Report to testing site when the bell rings at 7:45 Testing will be over around 11:30

6 What Is WorkKeys? AL Dept of Education administers this test to graduating seniors to determine career readiness Test recognized by U.S. companies to determine if job applicants have foundational skills for certain jobs Match your skills with specific job requirements Has 3 subtests that are 55 mins each: Applied Math Graphics Literacy Workplace Documents

7 How Can I Prepare? Free, User Friendly
Login Information will be provided to your 1A teachers to distribute to you(access anytime!) Broken up into subtests Explanation of answers Also, you have test prep days during 1A

8 National Career Readiness Certificate Met AL Benchmark/Indicator
How is WorkKeys Scored? Score on each subtest goes from 1-7. Score on Each Subtests National Career Readiness Certificate Level of Certificate Met AL Benchmark/Indicator Less than 3 None NA No 3 and/or better Yes Bronze 4 and/or better Silver 5 and/or better Gold 6 and/or better Platinum

9 National Career Readiness Certificate (NCRC)
Most job applications will ask if you hold a certificate It can give you an advantage over other applicants Silver Level and above = Positive AL Graduate Copy placed in your final graduation packet and your permanent record

10 Do your best and score at least a 4 on all subtests-Dress out of uniform from May 6th until your last day of high school

Scholarship List(also visit website and sign up for Remind for important announcements)-Sept 5th Military Recruiter Visits: Army National Guard/Army on campus each month starting Aug 29th (ASVAB will not be given at JHS this fall, but recruiters will take you to the Armed Force Center to test; Spring ASVAB at JHS will be Jan 29th) College Rep Visits from 9 – 10 a.m. : USA-Aug 30th, Auburn Univ in Montgomery-Sept 10th, Troy Un-Sept 17th, Huntingdon College- Oct 26th, and more to come College Fair/Tours : College Coastal- Sept 28th, Technical Tour to Coastal- Nov 1, and UA/Shelton CollegeTour-Nov 8th College Admissions events during October
