1 Diocese of Jamaica & the Cayman Islands
FRAMEWORK SYNOD 2018 FOR A DIOCESAN THREE YEAR STRATEGIC PLAN Presented by: Bishop Howard Gregory

2 VISION STATEMENT A passionate & committed community that is a beacon of Christian discipleship, serving its members and reaching out to others by the promotion of justice and the transformation of human lives, through the love of Christ among all people. Most of you will recall that we began with an Vision Statement which was quite long. It represented at the time an attempt to accommodate the many perspectives that members wanted to see reflected in the vision for the Diocese. Having been engaged by some congregations, having received feedback, the Monitoring Committee has worked on a more succinct formulation which we believe is quite comprehensive in scope.

3 MISSION STATEMENT To continuously proclaim the good news of the Kingdom of God, through the joyful, active discipleship of all members To teach, baptize, welcome, enroll and nurture new members To continuously respond to human need To be an influence for good in the wider society To safeguard, sustain and renew the life of the earth The Mission Statement continues to reflect the Five Marks of Mission of the Anglican Communion.
