Electronegativity -Electronegativity increases from left to right and increases from top to bottom

Chemical Bonding -If the difference in electronegativity is between 0 and 0.5, the bond will be nonpolar covalent -If the difference in electronegativity is between 0.5 and 2.1, the bond will be polar covalent -If the difference in electronegativity is between 2.1 and 3.3, the bond will be ionic

Difference in electronegativity = 2.98 -When an electron from an atom with low electronegativity (like a metal) is removed by another atom with high electronegativity (like a nonmetal), the two atoms become oppositely charged ions that attract, resulting in an ionic bond.
