4. Facilitate Hume – Private Sector Assistance
Appointed ‘in house’ consultant, Spiire – lead by Gerrit Prent
2 days per week in office, June –October 2017 and offsite assistance
Assisted in reducing backlog of applications in PSP areas
Processing time of applications in Growth Area Unit reduced by 34 % in this time period
Gerrit was able to contribute positively to the team by being exposed to day to day operations, including by way of:
Mentoring,
Skill development & building capacity within team
Independent view on what and how things were going.

5. Facilitate Hume – Private Sector Assistance - What’s Next?
Outstanding planning applications down to 547 at end of March 2018
Recent successful recruitments
Processing efficiencies and basic structural business improvements identified
Process review being scoped
Next stage a tender process for a ‘preferred suppliers’ panel - not exclusive to growth area consultancies
Additional resourcing to assist expediting approvals in PSP areas established areas.
