2 Violence in our school In our school, like in every other, students bully and blackmail their classmates. Some kids do not understand how it affects their friends. They think that they will become more popular if they bully their classmates in front of other kids.

3 To have a fight is just not right!

4 How do we deal with violence?
Under violence and abuse we imply to every behaviour which threathens health, development and dignity of a student or an employee, no matter whether it’s done only once or it’s repeated. There are different types of bullying. This inolves student neglecting, psychological bullying (which later leads to self-harming, using alcohol and drugs, or joining destructive groups and organisations).

5 How do we deal with violence?
One very frustrating thing is that there are some kids who support violence, but there are some of them who are just afraid to stand up against the bully. Kids who support violence usually make a group and gang up on weaker kids, who at the end just get beaten up and are left with bruises.

6 Use your brain violence is insane!

7 Consequences and advices for victims of violence
Some kids are left with physical and mental scars for a whole life from “meaningless” fights. Those kids are going through a very hard time and usually they don’t know what they should do and who to talk to. Don’t be afraid to break the law of silence, stand up and speak out if you are a victim of bullying. Do not be afraid to tell someone your problems, there is always someone who will help you.

8 Interview These are some students that have been bullied and also have had succesfully solved their problem: -Milan 6th grade: “I have been bullied by two older students; they have been blackmailing and beating me up when no one was watching. At first I was scared to tell anybody, but I decided to talk to my teacher. She asked for their names and I told her. They got their grades in behaving lower, detention and serious talk with their parents and a principal.”

9 Interview “WORDS HURT TOO!”
Ivana 8th grade:“While I was going to school I was being ignored, teased and rejected by other girls in my class. All of that was happening because I was different, I had different accent, taste in music, clothes… They were making fun of me. I cried all the time and I felt really bad. I wanted to tell someone about that, but I had no strength. Finally after all these years I found enough courage to stand up for myself. “ “WORDS HURT TOO!”

10 No matter what the question is, violence is never the answer!

11 How do we stop it? In our school there is violence preventing team. It consists of teachers, representatives of student parliament, principal and some parents. Those people are trying to stop violence and protect the victims of bullying. They have their non-violent ways of preventing it.

12 Ways that we use against bullying
The most important way is talking to victims and bullies. Bullies get detentions and lower grades in behaviour. We organise extracurricular activities such as plays and speaches about respecting our schoolmates. Older students talk with younger ones about their experience and give them some advices.

13 Use words not fists!
