Formative Performance Task 1 SUBSTITUTION How did similarities and differences between the ethnic groups cause conflict and cooperation between the Native Americans and French and Spanish colonies? (8.2.4, 8.4.2) Description of Formative Performance Task: You will take notes while watching an Edpuzzle video in Blackboard about the French colony of Louisiana and their relationship with the Native Americans and discuss findings with a partner and the class. Steps: Log on to Blackboard. Go to Ms. Latil’s Blackboard site. Click on IMPACT RESOURCES tab. Click on Task One Video icon. Watch the video, while taking notes. After watching video, share/compare notes with a partner. Partners will share findings during a whole class discussion. (8.2.4, 8.4.2) Description of Formative Performance Task: You will answer questions about the relationship between the French and Native Americans using the Kahoot app on an iPad. Steps: Open the Kahoot app on your iPad. Enter the code given by Ms. Latil. Create a nickname of your first initial, and initial and seat number (Examples: SL30) Wait for the game to begin! (8.2.4, 8.4.2) Description of Summative Performance Task: You will work with a partner to analyze and respond to sources by creating a Google Slide project. Steps: The group will go to Each group member will type their code name on the top of a slide. Go to the following sources and review the information. Using the constructed response rubric from the Scope and Sequence as a guide to complete the last task, students will review the information and respond to the following questions on their assigned slide: Explain how the French and the Spanish are similar and different in their relationships with the Native Americans in Louisiana. How did their relationships lead to conflict and cooperation between the groups? (8.2.4, 8.4.2) Description of Summative Performance Task: Using the constructed response rubric from the scope and sequence, you will provide feedback on selected student responses. Steps: Students will log onto Ms Latil’s Blackboard site. Click on IMPACT RESOURCES, then the TASK FOUR icon. Click on the class hour that you are assigned. Read through the Google Slides. Choose five slides to critique. Type your code name and feedback for each slide in the Speaker Notes, found at the bottom of the screen. All feedback will be monitored by the teacher.
