5 TRAX: Training Tracker
TRAX: A Sneak Preview of the NEW SMP Training Tracker 8/21/2018 TRAX: Training Tracker The training tracking system for the SMP network Rolling out to SMPs later this year, in the SMP Resource Library Will allow SMPs to take, assign, and track training and assessments Access levels vary based on user role TRAX: Training Tracker is the training tracking system for the SMP network. TRAX is rolling out to the SMP network later this year. Once it does, you’ll have access to it in the SMP Resource Library. TRAX will allow SMPs to take, assign, and track training and assessments. The role you have in the library now will affect your access to TRAX. Keep in mind that TRAX is an optional feature in the SMP Resource Library, so it’s possible that not every project will choose to use TRAX right away or at all. If you’re not sure if your SMP will use TRAX, ask your SMP director. Note: If you’re not sure if your SMP will use TRAX, ask your SMP director. Flory Lauer in Erie at 245 repeats

8/21/2018 3 Phases of Development Phase 1: Center testing In progress Phase 2: SMP testing* Summer 2018 Phase 3: TRAX rollout Timing TBD TRAX is rolling out to the SMP network in three phases. We are now ready to move into Phase 2 of development: which is SMP testing! We’d love to have as many TRAX testers as possible. We encourage anyone who is interested in helping test TRAX to sign up for a work group. The work groups will include a combination of web meetings and electronic communications, and will be hosted by Sara Lauer. We strongly encourage users from all roles and comfort levels to participate in the TRAX work groups. Nicole Liebau sent an to the SMP listserv on 8/15/18 with details and a link to sign up for a work group. If you’re interested, please check with your SMP director and sign up by Wednesday, August 29. I’ll provide the link at the end of today’s training. * Sign up for a TRAX work group by August 29! 8 New “trainee” user role
TRAX: A Sneak Preview of the NEW SMP Training Tracker 8/21/2018 New “trainee” user role Trainee users can take training assigned to them in TRAX. They have no access to resources, events, assessments, or other training unless it is assigned by a coordinator or director user. The trainee user role is intended to provide the lowest access possible to TRAX, without access to the rest of the SMP Resource Library. Trainee users can take training and assessments that are assigned to them in TRAX, using their To-Do List. However, they can’t search for resources or sign up for training, events, or assessments themselves, and they can’t add items to their own To-Do List. A director or coordinator user has to add training to their To-Do list so that they can take it. For any of you who don’t have access to the library, you could start out using the trainee role. However, please check with your SMP director first to make sure they want you to use TRAX before creating an account. Flory Lauer in Erie at 245 repeats

9 TRAX: A Sneak Preview of the NEW SMP Training Tracker
8/21/2018 Associate user role Associate users can take training in TRAX, access resources and events in the SMP Resource Library, and add items to their own “To-Do List.” How many of you currently have an associate user role in the SMP Resource Library? Associate users can take training in TRAX and access resources in the SMP Resource Library. They can add items to their own “To-Do List” using the “Available Training” option. Flory Lauer in Erie at 245 repeats

10 Coordinator without training access
TRAX: A Sneak Preview of the NEW SMP Training Tracker 8/21/2018 Coordinator without training access All coordinator users can take training in TRAX, access resources and events in the SMP Resource Library, and add items to their own “To-Do List.” Coordinator users who don’t have access to other users’ training will have similar TRAX access to associate users. How many of you currently have a coordinator user role in the SMP Resource Library? Do you have access to view assessment results? Coordinator users vary in exactly what they are able to access, based on the director’s discretion, similarly to what is currently done in the library. Right now, some coordinators have access to upload resources without director approval, and some coordinators have access to assessment results. With TRAX, some coordinators will have access to view other users’ training and add items to other users’ To-Do Lists. Of course, all coordinator users can take training in TRAX, access resources and events in the SMP Resource Library, and add item to their own “To-Do List.” They can also add items to their own “To-Do List” using the “Available Training” option. Coordinator users who don’t have access to other users’ training will have similar TRAX access to associate users (as shown here). Flory Lauer in Erie at 245 repeats

12 Basic TRAX functionality
TRAX: A Sneak Preview of the NEW SMP Training Tracker 8/21/2018 Basic TRAX functionality To-Do List: Training items to complete Trainee users need to have a director or coordinator add items for them. All other users can add items themselves. Available Training: Training available to add to each user’s To-Do List Includes web events, online courses, assessments, SMP library resources, and training curricula developed by the Center. Transcript: Completed training items To-Do List: Each person who uses TRAX will have a personal To-Do List of training that they can (or should) complete. Depending on your user role in TRAX, you may be able to add items to your own To-Do List, or your SMP director or coordinator of volunteers may need to add items for you. Available Training: Several types of training will be available to add to each user’s To-Do List, including web events, online courses, assessments, SMP library resources, and training curricula that are developed by the Center. Transcript: As training items are completed in TRAX, they will move to each user’s Transcript. Some types of items will move to your transcript automatically when they are completed, such as live web events hosted by the SMP Resource Center and the online assessments for the four national training courses developed by the Center.
