1 The Library of the Polish-Japanese Academy of Information Technology

2 About the library The library’s profile is based on the fields of study covered at PJAIT. We offer over books on information technology, mathematics, management, economy, history of art, Japanese culture and history, Japanese fiction in Polish and English, and literature related to the area of new arts (graphics, videos, movies etc.). The library provides access to other online libraries. We subscribe about 60 magazines: Polish and foreign ones (some of them are also accessible online). There’s an archive of students’ thesis and dissertations. Students can use computers and a scanner on the spot. The reading room is designed for individual work as well as for a group work.

3 Library regulations Registration is not required.
Acceptance of the library regulations is included in your contract with the university. To borrow a book, you need to: - show your student ID - know the book’s number.

4 Library loan policy Students can borrow books for three weeks.
Any long-term loans are possible under the librarian’s permission. Each student can borrow only three items at the same time. Check the book for any damage before borrowing and report it to the librarian, otherwise you might be found responsible for the damage. It is your responsibility to check the due date and return items by then, in the same condition as when the loan was received. It is possible to extend the loan period - by phone, or in person, within a period not exceeding the return date. Fines are charged for the late return. You’ll be charged 0,50 PLN per day for each loan. Fines for an overdue item should be paid within one month. If you have any liabilities, you may not be allowed to borrow a book. Alternatively, you can give a book of the same value to the library – the title has to be accepted by the librarian. Students who will defend their diploma thesis need to get their circulation card filled in the library – if you have any liabilities, you’ll have to cover them by that time.

5 Reading room regulations
Everyone can use the reading room. Items available in the reading room are supposed to be used only there. CDs or DVDs attached to the available magazines and the old issues of the magazines, can be borrowed for up to three days. In individual cases, the librarian might lend a book that is supposed to be used only in the reading room (for a specified loan period). You are allowed to see a given thesis only in the reading room. It’s forbidden to copy any thesis. If you want to borrow it, you need to inform the librarian in advance (preferably at least one day).

6 Reading room regulations
In the reading room, we’d like you to: Be quiet Do not eat Leave your jacket in one of the grey boxes Do not unplug any hardware Respect the right of other readers to work in silence
