8 NIH Initiative for Rigor and Reproducibility Begun in 2016
Focus on four areas deemed important for enhancing rigor and transparency: The scientific premise forming the basis of the proposed research Rigorous experimental design for robust and unbiased results Consideration of relevant biological variables  Authentication of key biological and/or chemical resources

Facilitate good experimental design when applicable Develop and implement well-defined SOPs, QC/QA practices for core services Offer and promote authentication services for key biological and/or chemical resources to help achieve compliance with the NIH guidelines cell line authentication antibody validation chemical reagent testing/optimization
