5. Attendance Policy Changes
3 unexcused: Letter sent, ESAP referral, and School Improvement Conference
6 unexcused: Letter, ESAP referral, School Improv. Conference, and referral to Community Based Attendance program

6. Math Instruction Grouping criteria included:
Math achievement scores
Fourth grade end of book test
Basic facts
Student attributes
Both the total points and number of students determine the grouping.

7. Math Instruction All students will receive the same curriculum.
In grades 3, 4, and 5, there are M3 groups and M4 groups.
Each M4 group is a heterogeneous mix.
The difference between M3 and M4 is the pace and/or depth of the curriculum.

8. Go Math! Curriculum
Instruction is focused on inquiry-based methodology.
Problem solving will be emphasized in all units.
All Pennsylvania Core Standards for Mathematics will be addressed.
Each student will receive workbooks for all units. Students can write in their consumable books.
There are various online resources that can be used at home for additional practice and
reinforcement.

1st year of implementation
New language to refer to math courses. In the past, math courses at the elementary level were called A1 and A2. In order to align with middle school, language has been changed to M4 and M3.
Decisions for math placements in these courses is the same as it was – it is data driven and can change from year to year (A student in M3 this year can be a student in M4 next year)
No student is at a disadvantage if in an M3 course. It’s the same curriculum, same resources, and the same content. Teachers are teaching to the curriculum with fidelity and following the same pacing guide throughout the district

MTSS is an overarching thought process regarding student success that combines both academic and behavioral aspects. The academic side is often defined as “Response to Intervention” (RTI), while the behavioral side can be defined as “Positive Behavioral Intervention & Supports” (PBIS)
PBIS is Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS) is a proactive approach to establishing the behavioral supports and social culture and needed for all students in a school to achieve social, emotional and academic success.

*Important to note: Tier 2 and 3 Instruction will NOT begin this year. It will begin next year when we build an intervention period into our schedule and have specific intervention programs to use with students who need it. Ingomar and McKnight are currently in this phase and are piloting for us.

If parents can not attend, make up dates will be held at the individual schools. Information on these make-up dates will be in the school’s main office.

33. More than one child receiving a device?
Attend the Distribution night (suggested that you attend the program for your oldest child).
Bring all signed User Agreements (one per child).
Be sure to accept or decline insurance coverage for each device that will be received.
Parents will take home the device of their oldest child.
The devices for younger children will be delivered to your child’s school the morning after their grade level Distribution Night.
There will be a table at each Rollout Night for parent to drop off their forms.

34. Student Boot-Up Camps Grade 5 - September 15th
These sessions will be led by your child’s teacher and the school’s Technology Integrator.
Students will learn:
iPad Expectations for classroom and home use
Process for requesting technical assistance at school
Digital Citizenship (responsible use)
