A Turkey for Thanksgiving

Genre: This story is fantasy.
Fantasy is a form of fiction that could not happen. It is NOT realistic. This story is fantasy because the animals talk and cook a Thanksgiving dinner in the story. Animals do not do these things in real life.

Drawing Conclusions… This is when we use what we already know to figure out what is happening or what might happen in our reading. If you stopped the story to make a prediction about what might happen to Turkey at Thanksgiving, you may have predicted that he would be EATEN. You draw this CONCLUSION based on what you know USUALLY happens to turkeys on Thanksgiving.

Fact or Opinion? A fact is a statement that is true and can be proven.
An example of a fact is: The sky is blue An opinion is what someone thinks or feels, but cannot be proven. An example of an opinion is: I think the sky is a beautiful color.
