What is it? Formal recognition of the AU Clubs who are operating to a high or good standard. Recognises achievements in 7 key areas: Committee & Organisation Coaching Social & Welfare Finances Activity Competition Community Clubs can achieve a Gold, Silver or Bronze Award depending on how well they meet each criteria. All Clubs should be able to achieve an award!

Why should my Club apply for a Club Mark?
Entitles you to a number benefits and rewards, the higher the award the better the benefits! Gives your Club a formal recognition by the University for your achievements. You will get a ‘Club Development Mark’ to use on your website, marketing collateral and social media accounts. It will help you to attract new club members.

Benefit Access to Ad hoc facility bookings (from Sept 2019)
GOLD SILVER BRONZE Access to Ad hoc facility bookings (from Sept 2019) Priority access to block facility bookings over clubs on a lower mark/no mark (from January 2019) Priority access to surplus budget at the end of the financial year over clubs on a lower mark/no mark Qualifies for Club Of the Year at Sports Awards Priority Access to Varsity Tickets (a week before general sale) (from Sept 2019) Free Varsity T-Shirt for all members of competing teams (from Sept 2019) Free BOTN T-shirts for all members of competing teams Priority access to Sports Awards Tickets Access to additional pots of funding (TBC) that can be applied to for additional kit, coaching, equipment or tournaments.

How do we apply? Complete an application before the deadlines ( 31st December or 31st April) Make sure you meet the COMPULSORY criteria for all sections! Indicate all the criteria you wish to be assessed on. Attach evidence if required - appropriate evidence is suggested on the application to help - but you can submit any information you think is relevant! Evidence can be backdated up to 12 months Submit electronic/hard copy to the AU

What happens next? We will assess all applications within a month.
We may come back to you if you are on the cusp of 2 Marks to ask for more evidence. You will receive 3 points for fully met criteria 1 for partially met. If a criteria is N/A to you, you’ll receive 3 points. There will be a baseline criteria you must achieve to be awarded a Mark

Whoop whoop! We got a Club Mark – what now?
You can use your Club Mark accreditation for 12 months from issue. You can resubmit your application for a higher Club Mark at the next available submission date. We will celebrate and promote your award – and you should too! You need to maintain the standards you have achieved to retain your award! We will let you know if and when you can apply for additional benefits associated with your award.
