3. Proof of Identification and Legal Presence
Foreign passport, US visa,
I-94, F-1 status with D/S stamp
I-20
Employment Authorization Card
Name and date of birth should match on all documents presented.

4. Proof of Domicile
Must provide two documents to prove you have lived in Texas for at least 30 days.
Examples: Residential lease, utility bills, current auto insurance card or policy, vehicle registration, statement from financial institution etc.

5. Proof of Social Security and Driver Education
Now Required when applying for a Driver License or ID.
Driver Education is required if you are under 25.

7. Limited Term Visitor/SAVE
Limited term licenses and ID cards issued will expire when the person’s period of lawful presence expires.
SAVE will determine the expiration date.

8. Bring to DPS Foreign Passport with US visa,
I-94, F1 status with duration of status stamp (D/S)*
I-20 form,
Two Proof of Residency,
Social Security Card* and
Driver Education* (if the applicant is under the age of 25)

9. What if your documents does not verify at DPS
DPS will initiate 2nd verification. The applicant will receive a letter usually within 5-7 business days advising next step.
