~ £466m spend in 2015/16 Social Care largest proportion of budget £157m (~33%) 67% of procurement spend is attributed to NE Based businesses Of which 40% are County Durham Businesses … 30% are County Durham SME’s This is ~£141m of goods and services Council is committed to increasing this figure… Social Care (mention Profound) accounts for 33% of budget and 79% provided by NE businesses of which 57% of them are based in County Durham and 45% are County Durham SME’s

Roofing Contractors including metal deck, felt, slate and membrane roofing – Advertised in July Ventilation Ductwork – June/July Framework agreement for supply of spares in relation to gas servicing, repairs and maintenance of gas, plumbing and heating appliances – Deadline for tenders 17th May 2017 Framework for electrical components – November Construction – bricklaying contractors (supply and labour only); street lighting electricial works, scaffolding contracting, earthworks – December likely date Road / Highway markings June/July Look c/ sign up to NEPO… OTHER contacts include… In terms of ICT services, there are likely to be opportunities in both web development and app development. From time to time we require the development of bespoke websites and web pages to promote significant cultural events - the promotion of the recent Kynren outdoor event being an illustrative example. In the category of Environmental Services, we regularly have contract requirements related to our current and closed landfill sites. These include equipment and services related to landfill gas and leachate, transport of leachate, and other environmental control works. It is anticipated that several such contracts will arise in the coming year.

High-value, low-cost railway innovations, increasing the value of rail services for passengers while driving down operational costs Assist with luggage location, identification and tracking Enhance catering options, including enabling pre-ordering, station collection, ordering in transit, or at-seat delivery Enhance environmental and sensory experiences (including train and station interiors). For example, digital interaction, dynamic lighting, scent, noise-cancelling, audio, or other factors contributing to the passenger experience Drive behavioural change – optimise passenger movements through stations and improve loading and unloading trains
