INFOCOM 2018 – cont’ IEEE INFOCOM is a top ranked conference on networking in the research community. It is a major conference venue for researchers to present and exchange significant and innovative contributions and ideas in the field of networking and closely related areas. IEEE INFOCOM covers both theoretical and systems research. For INFOCOM 2018, the conference includes a main technical program, a number of workshops, a keynote speech, panels, a student poster session, and demo/poster sessions. INFOCOM 2018 has held on April 15-19, 2018, Honolulu, HI, USA

On Latency-aware Temporal Data Aggregation Tree for Emergency Responding VANET Applications
I can clearly notice the less amount of interest from the research community on wireless networking researches. A number of colleagues are migrating into network security. Fog-computing has been recognized as an interesting topic among the members of network research community over recent years. However, it seems to lose the stem based on my impression on the panel discussion. Dr. Jim F. Kurose, who is the author of the famous textbook on computer network and is a current Assistant Director of NSF CISE, provided a key note speak on young faculty career, which is not so useful to me - : )

Benefit of Travel Collaboration Opportunities
I have attend this conference over years (INFOCOM 2010, INFOCOM 2012, INFOCOM 2014, INFOCOM 2015 and INFOCOM 2018) and have presented my works. Due to the top quality of presented work, this conference has been used as a good networking spot. This year I met two new colleagues (in addition to old colleagues) who are interested in future collaborations. I will continue making effort to work with them to identify future funding opportunities. Dr. Yi Zhu, Hawaii Pacific University, Honolulu, USA (possible to work with Naval Research in Honolulu) Dr. Hyunseung Choo, Sungkyunkwan University, Suwon, South Korea (possible to work with Samsung Electronics, which is a major sponsor of Sungkyunkwan University)

Benefit of Travel New Research Ideas
I have came up with a research idea on an improved blockchain technology for electricity exchange in smart grid system. This idea is being used to prepare MS Thesis of Mr. Euiseong Ko who plan to graduate in Summer 2018. I have discussed with Dr. Hyunseung Choo from Sungkyunkwan University on a new middleware technology, namely application defined network (AND), which can use placed on the existing software defined network (SDN) technology.
