You are answering the question, “What is the speaker’s tone towards his or her subject, and how do you know?”
Start with a thesis statement that directly addresses the prompt.
Thesis statement:
In the video, “Elf Trailer: Recut,” the producer employs eerie music to create an ominous tone towards Buddy’s arrival to New York City.
Then, provide an example of the device mentioned in your thesis statement.
Evidence:
During Buddy and his father’s initial interaction, there are minor tones playing throughout which mirror the family’s negative feelings. High pitched screeches are played as well, as the suspense builds, displaying the heightening terror of the situation.
