Northern Trust Corporation is listed in Fortune magazine's third annual survey of the 100 best companies at which to work. Northern Trust was the only Chicago company and one of three Illinois companies to be selected for this listing. In its snapshots of the winning companies, Fortune highlighted Northern Trust's on- site child care, Employee Stock Ownership Plan and flexible work schedules as contributing to its inclusion on the list.

Northern Trust Corporation was also listed recently in Computerworld magazine as having one of the top 100 Information Technology (IT) areas in which to work. In defining the criteria for selecting the winners, Computerworld focused on the requirements for a challenging and rewarding working environment for IT employees and emphasized how important these factors can be to a company's success. The magazine's survey considered interesting projects, flexibility, opportunities for advancement, diversity, benefits and interest in the overall well- being of employees in compiling the top 100 list.
