Revolution “a fundamental change in the way of thinking about or visualizing something : a change of paradigm.” Merriam-Webster RACHEL Change the way you think about power French and Raven – you want to use referent and expert, right? But others are useful if used ethically! Legitimate – This comes from the belief that a person has the formal right to make demands, and to expect compliance and obedience from others. Reward – This results from one person's ability to compensate another for compliance. Expert – This is based on a person's superior skill and knowledge. Referent – This is the result of a person's perceived attractiveness, worthiness, and right to respect from others. Coercive – This comes from the belief that a person can punish others for noncompliance.

The Need 44% of clients at local hunger centers are children and seniors The city’s poverty rate is 54%, second only to Detroit at 59%. 69% of adults read below the 7th grade level. 33.5% of households do not have internet access, among the ten worst cities in the country. . More than 1 in 8 households within our service area turn to local hunger centers for food assistance. - Service area population estimate, 2013: 1,861,610 (247,000/1,861,610= 13.3%) Half of client households fell below 50% of the federal poverty line ($9,765 for a family of 3 in 2013). Three in four client households (75%) fell below the federal poverty line ($19,530 for a family of 3 in 2013). One in four client households (25%) live above the federal poverty line.
