Figure 7 | Proposed clinical approach to athletes with right ventricular arrhythmias. The presence of an underlying cardiomyopathy critically determines the subsequent treatment plan. The most challenging decisions are probably in those athletes with ventricular arrhythmias (VAs) and a dysfunctional right ventricle (RV), but no definite arrhythmogenic right ventricular cardiomyopathy criteria fulfilled. Some factors such as the response to exercise or detraining, or a close follow-up after an ablation (in those individuals with suspected idiopathic ventricular tachycardia), might be of diagnostic value.
