1 Wiz Instructions for RBC Exchange

2 Log in to a clinical workstation with your VUNet ID

3 Click blue wizard hat (Wiz)

4 If they are inpatient, type their name in here.
Otherwise click on the “Outpatient/ER” tab.

5 If “Outpatient/ER” is selected, this box will open
If “Outpatient/ER” is selected, this box will open. Enter patient’s name and click “Get Patients”.

6 Select “Manage Preorders”.

7 Select “Nephrology: Apheresis” from the dropdown menu and click “Create”.

9 Scroll down to numbers and select each one at a time by clicking on it. You will need to fill in appropriate values.

10 **Orders appear over here once they are finished.**
After clicking on 25: We don’t enter the FCR (just delete the underscore), but do enter current and target Hgbs.

12 You can click “oops <F5>” at the bottom of the windows to go back a step within this window if needed (or if you get lost). Don’t forget to add in the current HCT in addition to the target HCT.

13 Scroll farther down to see Meds
Scroll farther down to see Meds. You can select from the list by clicking on the drug you want. Not every patient receives the same drugs. Look at previous RBC exchange orders to see what they received previously. (“Nephrology preorders” in Starpanel).

14 Alternatively, type in the drug you want and hit “Enter”

18 Select your frequency.

19 Select start time.

20 Freetext if needed. In this case, Benadryl is a premedication, so give 1 dose.

21 Hit “Enter” and the Benadryl order will appear to the left.

22 Enter the post-exchange labs you want
Enter the post-exchange labs you want. It’s easy to Freetext and search for Meds and Labs. The same process can be used for other medications, including PRNs.

23 Make sure to qualify the labs as “30 min post-exchange”.

26 Orders can be modified by clicking on them in the left panel
Orders can be modified by clicking on them in the left panel. This window will open, and you click “modify”.

27 Select the part you want to modify.

28 Make your changes.

These are the completed orders for this patient (minus lab values). Not every patient receives the same drugs. Look at previous RBC exchange orders to see what they received previously. (“Nephrology preorders” in Starpanel). Click “done” when ready to finish.

30 Select one of these options
Select one of these options. You must save “Signed” preorders before the nurse can start the procedure.

31 Alternative Method: Enter the Pre Orders in StarPanel

32 Select “Actions” next to the patient’s name.

33 Select “Wiz ManagePre” from the list of options.
If “Wiz ManagePre is not listed… Select customize (1). Then, select “Wiz ManagePre” from the list of available actions (2) and click “Install new Actions” (3). Once this is done, “Wiz ManagePre” will be available to select as shown above. 3 1 2

34 Select “Nephrology: Apheresis” from the dropdown menu and click “Create”.
