2 Barbarian (in ancient times) a member of a community or tribe not belonging to one of the great civilizations (Greek, Roman, Christian)

3 paganism a religion that has many gods or goddesses, considers the earth holy, and does not have a central authority

4 Salvation deliverance from sin and its consequences, believed by Christians to be brought about by faith in Christ

5 Anatomy concerned with the bodily structure

8 Antiquity the ancient past, especially the period before the Middle Ages

9 Feudalism the social system in medieval Europe, in which the nobility was given land by the king in exchange for military service, and vassals were in turn tenants of the nobles, while the peasants were obliged to live on their lord's land and give him homage, labor, and a share of the produce, in exchange for military protection

25 Flying buttress a buttress slanting from a separate pier, typically forming an arch with the wall it supports
