treat injuries If no response move to “S” (Shout for help)

8 Airway DRSABCD Open airway: Head tilt, chin lift

9 DRSABCD Breathing IF Breathing Recovery position IF Not breathing CPR
Look- can you see the chest rise & fall? Listen- can you hear breath sounds? Feel- can you feel breaths from the nose or mouth? IF Breathing Recovery position IF Not breathing CPR Call ambulance

10 Patient not breathing. What should you do?
A) Chest compressions OR B) Recovery postion

11 Patient breathing. What should you do?
A) Chest compressions OR B) Recovery position

12 DRSABCD CPR 100-120 beats/ minute Think “Staying Alive”
30 compressions to 2 breaths - Put one hand over the other Keep your elbows straight Use the palm of your hand

13 Will speak to you and tell you what to do
Defibrillation DRSABCD Will speak to you and tell you what to do

14 Remember to call 999 and clearly tell them:
1) Where you are 2) What has happened 3) Stay on the phone until the paramedics arrive
