Geometry – The Polar Bear Problem

Geometry – The Polar Bear Problem
A polar bear rests by a stack of 3000 pounds of fish he has caught. He plans to travel 1000 miles across the Arctic to bring as many fish as possible home to his family. He can pull a sled that holds up 1000 pounds of fish, but he must eat 1 pound of fish at every mile to keep his energy up. What is the maximum amount of fish in pounds the polar bear can transport across the Arctic? How does he do it?

Algebra II – It's time to review
This should be as independent as possible, but don't be afraid to ask for help. All work should be completed on notebook paper – neat and organized. Final answers circled or boxed in. Tomorrow we'll go over answers. But first, a message from Mrs. Brown...

Algebra II Lab now offered in school
"Don’t forget to mention the 3rd period lab to your classes and if you get a chance to talk to struggling students about it that would be awesome! The counselors have said that if a student wants to join it they can go down and talk to them and work to get their schedule changed around. It counts as an elective credit!" Mrs. Brown, 3105
