What is a Constitution? A Constitution is a set of basic principles and laws that states the powers and duties of the government.

Congress would become the single branch of the national government but it would have limited powers in order to protect the liberties of the people. Congress had a hard time getting the states to be united. States had the power to refuse requests of Congress.

What are tariffs? Taxes on imports and exports

What is interstate commerce?
Trade between 2 or more states. Before the constitution, states followed their own trade laws. This made things difficult for merchants.

What is inflation? Inflation occurs when there are increased prices for goods and services combined with the reduced value of money.

What is a depression? A depression is a period of low economic activity combined with a rise in unemployment.

Who was Daniel Shays? Led hundreds of men in a forced shut down of the supreme court in Springfield, Massachusetts. The rebellion became known as “Shay’s Rebellion”
