Answers ∆ABC≅∆RST. Describe a sequence of rigid motion to map ∆ABC to ∆RST A C B R S T There are many possibilities. One option is: (x,y) → (x, -y) Followed by: (x, y) → (x – 1, y – 2)

Congruency - Review Yesterday, we learned that two shapes are congruent if and only if one can be obtained from the other by ___________________________

Congruence and Triangles
What can you conclude about two triangles that are congruent? When you know that two triangles are congruent, you can make conclusions about the sides and angles of the triangles. Resource Manager: Obtain one worksheet for each person Time Keeper: 10 minutes Reader/Recorder: Read each question out loud Spy Monitor: Check in with other groups
6
CPCTC Corresponding parts of a triangle are the sides and angles that are in the same spot on two triangles. Corresponding Parts of Congruent Triangles are Congruent (abbreviated as CPCTC) – If two triangles are congruent, then the corresponding sides and corresponding angles are congruent.
7
Using CPCTC Time Keeper: 10 minutes
Reader/Recorder: Read each question out loud Spy Monitor: Check in with other groups
8
Finish Group Passing Game
On your original poster, write the congruence statement and write all 3 pairs of congruent sides and all 3 pairs of congruent angles.
9
Another Definition Congruent Polygons are polygons in which all corresponding sides and angles are congruent. How is this different from similar figures? – mark figures
10
List all corresponding sides
List all corresponding angles Ca=do, at=og, ct=dg, c=d, a=o, t=g

Can draw two triangles to help
