1 Project 9: Investigating User Benefits and Risks Associated with IoT Use REU Student: Joseph Prause Graduate mentors: Arup Ghosh and Neda Hajiakhoond Faculty Mentor(s): Dr. Wisniewski and Dr. Turgut Week 9 (July 15– July 21, 2017) Accomplishments: Completed User Study for CareBit application. Analyzing efficacy, flaws in application design, and participants’ opinions. Prepared final presentation poster for symposium on the 28th. Worked on Final report by outlining the experimentation section of the report. Found important architectural errors that would need to be fixed in order for application to be market friendly. Issues and Problems Application bugs appeared the day before the User study Reverted to a previous version and implemented Features Users’ phones were incompatible with application due to android version level, resulted in lower sample size for User Study Plans for next week: Finish Poster as well as final report. Present Poster on the 28th of July. NSF REU Research Experience on Internet of Things 2017
