2 Introduction “The gift of life is the greatest gift of all. Embrace, appreciate and enjoy it. You only get one. Nothing is to hard to get through. Trials and tribulations are there to make you a stronger, more sophisticated human being. Push through your hardship and smile through your scars. At the end of the day your scars, be it physical or emotional, will tell the story of your life, of overcoming the hell on the path to your amazing destiny.” -Ryan Howell My career that I chose is a clinical psychologist. I think this quote relates to my career because my job is to help people go through there hardships and get through them so they can be happy. Since I was very young I’ve wanted to become a psychologist. Not a particular person persuaded me to be a psychologist, its just always been an idea that I was interested in.

3 Working Conditions My job is mental Indoors
My job is mental instead of physical because I’m dealing with the mental health of my patients. My job is to help those who are suffering and get them into a more positive mindset and help them deal with a their problems in a healthy way. While helping them deal with their problems, I also have to keep my sanity around all of the negativity. So therefore, my job is more mental than physical. The hours vary depending on if you work along, in educational offices, or in health care settings. If you work along in private sessions we can often set your own hours and appointments. Those who work in nursing homes and other health facilities usually work evenings and weekends. Psychologist who work in educational offices work full-time during buisness hours. The working environment varies. About 34 percent of psychologist work alone, 29 percent worked in educational offices, and 20 percent worked in health care settings.

4 Nature Of Work Helping the patient realize their problems and achieving goals. Interviewing patients, performing diagnostic testing and conducting hypnosis and physiotherapy sessions. You will maintain patient progress reports, evaluate the effectiveness of your treatment plan and make modifications, if necessary. Before meeting with a patient you have to meet with the patients friends and family to discuss the patients issues and problems. Also, before meeting with the patient you must gather background information through interviews and health records.
