Phase 1: Core Learning Goals & Objectives
Knowledge Competencies Breadth of Business Knowledge – (Core) Analytical Competencies Critical Thinking Quantitative Reasoning Information Literacy Financial Literacy Socio-Cultural Global Learning Ethical Reasoning Team Effectiveness Communication Written Communications Oral Communications In the end, we developed and are proposing four learning goals and eleven learning objectives. These were are adapted from the AAC&U VALUE rubrics. As a reference, your packets include definitions and performance dimensions. Consistent with the reasons for change, we believe these are program-level learning objectives that emphasize competencies and skills. We also think completing the assessment process will be considerably easier, more efficient, and more effective. HOWEVER, we believe the four goals and eleven learning objectives only represent the baseline or the foundations for any high quality business education. In other words, these are minimum expectations for any business graduate. Although many would argue that achievement of the proposed learning objectives are critical, none of the proposed objectives or goals are unique from other high quality undergraduate business programs.
