Fact 1 The company was founded by Stanford graduates, William Hewlett and David Packard with a capital of $538 (which was inclusive of equipment). A toss of a coin decided their moniker order on the logo.

Fact 2 A Palo Alto Garage was the place where HP was set-up. This garage is now officially a historical landmark in the state.

Fact 3 The first product manufactured by HP was a resistance-capacitance audio oscillator that was used for testing.

Fact 4 The casual culture that is very intrinsically woven in tech firms in Silicon Valley was pioneered in the 1940’s at HP.
