3 Concepts to be Covered:
Unit 1: The Number System Unit 2: Ratios and Proportional Relationships Unit 3: Expressions, Equations, and Inequalities Unit 4: Geometry Unit 5: Statistics Unit 6: Probability

4 On-line Component This book series comes with an amazing on-line component. Each student will have their own login and password. Textbook available online. Students will be completing homework assignments and submitting them online.

5 Resources: Interactive Video: Introduces the lesson and connects the concept to real world situations Math On the Spot: This allows the students to get instruction from one of the main writers of the textbook. Animated Math: Students will be able to explore different key concepts and see how the math actually works. Personal Math Trainer: Students have the ability to go through different math problems that correspond to the lesson they are completing. A tutor is available to help the students through each of the problems, giving hints as needed.

6 Homework/ In-Class Work:
Doing homework/in-class work is essential to learning mathematical concepts. It gives students the opportunity to work independently, as well as reinforce and extend previously learned skills. Homework/in-class work may be assigned daily. All work must be shown and completed in PENCIL only (unless otherwise directed). Homework/in-class work is graded for accuracy and/or completion. Failure to complete assignments will be reflected in your grade. If you are absent from class, it is your responsibility to get the notes and complete the missing work.

7 Assessments: Formative: Designed to help students improve learning through verbal and written feedback. Student strengths and weaknesses are identified to determine the next steps during the learning process. These assessments include, but are not limited to, homework, in-class work, practice problems, or quizzes to check for understanding. Summative: Provides evidence of a student’s mastery of skills. These assessments include, but are not limited to, quizzes to show mastery, tests, final project, presentation, end of unit portfolio.

8 Web Site: Students and parents may access my web site through the district at This site will have updated information about classes as well as daily assignments in my homework page. Also available on this site are links to the available resources of the textbook. In addition, I have also included useful websites that will help students that are not understanding a concept. Some of these sites will also reinforce concepts
