I decided to attend sixth form for many reasons such as it sounded new and interesting but also a comfortable environment as it's still Crofton. Another reason is, I'm not going to lie, it was local and I really hate getting up on a morning and I couldn't see me getting a bus at 8 o'clock in the morning, so with it being 5/10 minutes away and within walking distance it solved that problem.

The highs of my first year so far have been the flexibility of the timetables, the amount of breaks we have and how long they are ranging from 45 minutes to some cases hours - this gives me enough time do things I need to do. Starting at 1 in the afternoon is definitely a highlight, though it only happens once a week, that's good enough for me. The freedom we get is definitely new at first but wasn't too hard to get used to. But lastly gaining and becoming close with the friends I have here, I wouldn't have imagined it but it's brought us all together and without them the year wouldn't have gone as well as it has. Though it's not all been sunshine and rainbows, times have been rubbish like the amount of work and revision you have to do outside of class - it is so much more and that's for four subjects instead of GCSE when it was like eight. Having to be so organised when your not is a downer too but I'm doing alright so I'm guessing it's not such a problem.

My lessons have been surprisingly great and dare I say interesting
My lessons have been surprisingly great and dare I say interesting. With it being only small classes, getting along with the tutors and others in the classroom has been so easy and chilled out, which has made it so much easier to learn and get on with each of my subjects. The atmosphere is great, everyone's relaxed, joke full and able to have a good laugh whilst at the same time complete the work. Though the subjects, well the ones I've taken, are quite challenging in some ways the lessons the tutors have put together make it seem less difficult although the amount of work is horrific!

The tutors are very different from high school
The tutors are very different from high school. They treat us like adults and it makes getting along so much easier. They're friendly but also are there to encourage us and help us to our full potential to achieve the grades we want, higher than our predicted grades. They're consistent with making lessons enjoyable, handing us feedback and helping with any problem we have. After Crofton Sixth Form I hope to go to university, get a degree and get a very good career which will fill one of my dreams to travel around the world - as part of my job (or at least pay well so I could do it anyway).

Text sent to parent: Hi Mrs *****. Hope you don't mind me contacting you, but this time it is good news. Tutors have commented on ***** positive attitude and work ethic since we met on Tuesday. It seems a pat on the back is deserved. Whatever you said to ***** after we met, thank you. Hope this now continues and he does well in his exams. Lee at Crofton.
