Accreditation in Denmark
Accreditation of university study programmes Five criteria based on quality and relevance Both assessment and decision is preformed independently of the ministry Assessment – ACE Denmark (university study programmes) and Danish Evaluation Institute (EVA) (other higher educational study programmes) Decision – The Accreditation Council

Cross-border quality assurance
The universities themselves choose the QA agency Either EQAR-registered agencies or regarded as internationally recognised: Erasmus Mundus Masters Programmes only EQAR-register Parts of study programmes: Quality assured as part of an existing Danish study programme or as part of a foreign study programme It is sufficient that the foreign study programme is offered by an institution that has an institutional based quality assurance Cross-border QA can reduce bureaucracy, contribute to more joint and double degree and in the end increase mobility in HE

Expectations for the future?
New legislation – not tested in practice yet Universities know what they have, but not what they get Effect of future shift in Denmark to accreditation of HE institutions instead of individual study programmes?
