Constructing a Triangle
given all three sides

2. Construct triangle ABC when AB = 10cm, BC = 6cm and AC = 8cm
Example
Construct triangle ABC when AB = 10cm, BC = 6cm and AC = 8cm
Measure and write down the size of angle ABC C
Step 1 draw the line AB = 10cm
Step 2 setting compasses to 8 cm place them on point A and draw a large arc
Step 3 setting your compasses to 6cm place them on point B and draw another arc which intersects the first arc
The point of intersection is point C
The triangle is completed by drawing lines from C to A and C to B A B

3. Construct triangle PQRwhen PQ = 4cm, PR = 7cm and QR = 4cm
Example

Measure and write down the size of angle PQR R P Q

4. Construct triangle DEF when DE = 7.4cm, DF = 6.8cm and EF = 9.5cm
